I’m a melanoma survivor. I have held back my whole life with what I really wanted to do. During the pandemic I started writing songs. I found it very cathartic. I showed my 19 year old daughter this song for the first time recently- because I'd forgotten my old and deep love of Peter Gabriel. She laughed at it but then was like- uhhh, yeah, that song is "buuuuhh dasssss!" LOL. Guess I raised my kids right. We're all music junkies cracked out on it as often as possible.

I listened to this song a lot 3 years ago in 2021. It was because I had this feeling that my mom was closer to the end of her life than the beginning and that I would have to learn how to live my life without her in it. She had been on dialysis for around 7 years at this point. I hate when I'm right. She died in December that year. That was when my real life began. I'm doing a lot better now, but listening to the song made me cry for about a year afterwards.

Never get tired of listening to this. A classic.

I heard this song in "Scrubs", a while ago now. Those days I was just married, waiting for my immigration approval to Canada in my country, while my wife was waiting for me. It took us more or less a year to be together again. I loved listening and learning this song, thinking that my real life was about to begin "any minute now". Thanks Colin.
